Taimeng
A dream said to announce a pregnancy or tell something about the child.
Taimeng literally means foetus dream. These are dreams that precede or accompany a pregnancy, dreamt by the mother, the father or a grandparent. Well-known images are a dragon, a snake, a fish, a tiger or ripe fruit such as peaches.
In many Chinese and other East Asian families such dreams are read as a sign of the child's character or destiny, and sometimes of its sex. Later they are often told to the child with pleasure, as part of their story.
