Dreaming of being pregnant in wicca: meaning
In Wicca pregnancy is read through earth and through the moon: something being fed that needs time.
Within this tradition
Pregnancy belongs to earth: the body, the tangible, and what needs time to grow. It is one of the clearest images of a process you cannot hurry.
The moon's phase colours the reading strongly. Under a waxing moon the dream is read as something swelling that wants feeding. Under a waning moon more as the question of whether you still want to carry what you carry.
Within the wheel of the year this image is connected with Imbolc and early spring: shoots already present but not yet above ground.
What grows is rarely a child. More often a project, a realisation, or a change in yourself that has not yet found form.
Many wiccans work with the image of the triple goddess: the maiden, the mother and the crone, connected with the waxing, full and waning moon. Pregnancy belongs to the mother and the full moon: the phase of fertility, abundance and care. A dream about being pregnant can thus be read as an invitation to recognise that motherly power in yourself, even if you do not want a child: the power to nurture something until it is ready to be born.
At Imbolc Brigid is honoured, who is also connected with birth and midwives. A pregnancy dream around early February therefore fits the images of that festival.
