Dreaming of crying in the Bible: meaning
The Bible takes tears seriously. Jesus weeps at the grave of his friend Lazarus, and the Psalms promise: weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning. A crying dream is therefore read with great gentleness in the Christian tradition.
Within this tradition
The shortest verse in the Bible may also be one of the most comforting: Jesus wept. At the grave of Lazarus, while he knows he will raise him, he still allows his grief. Christians read in that that sorrow is not faithless or weak, but human, and that God shares it.
Psalm 30 says: weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning. For someone who wakes up crying, that is a familiar comfort. The dream can be read as the night of that verse: a time of sorrow that does not have the last word. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus also calls those who mourn blessed, for they will be comforted.
The book of Revelation ends with the promise that God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. A dream in which someone dries your tears is therefore often read hopefully: comfort coming, sometimes from an unexpected direction.
As with every dream, discernment applies. Crying dreams in a period of grief are above all grief. The tradition then responds not with interpretation, but with nearness, prayer and people who weep with you.

What does the Bible say about crying?
That Jesus himself wept, that weeping lasts the night but joy comes in the morning, and that God will wipe away every tear.
Is a crying dream a message from God?
Dreamkin does not say so. The tradition tests such questions through prayer, Scripture and people you trust.
What can I do after a crying dream?
Many Christians bring their sorrow into prayer, as the Psalms do: honestly, without making it prettier. And they seek out people who weep with them.
