Padrino en madrina
The initiated godparent who guides you within a house.
A padrino or madrina is the initiate who guides someone within a house of Santería. The person guided is called ahijado.
The tradition is not learned from books but passed on within that relationship, step by step and over years.
For dream interpretation this matters: with a dream that keeps returning or leaves unease, the padrino or madrina is the person to turn to. Not because a dream is secret, but because interpretation belongs with someone who knows you and your situation.
