Dreaming of a car accident in Islam: meaning
The classical Islamic interpreters knew no cars, but they did know the mount. In their works the horse or camel you ride stands for your position, your standing and your means. Modern interpreters read the car along those lines.
Within this tradition
In the works attributed to Ibn Sirin, riding a mount is often read as your status or your position in the world. A strong, obedient horse is favourable: your affairs are going well and you have them in hand. A horse that bolts or will not obey points to affairs slipping away from you. And falling from your mount is read as a loss of standing or of a position.
Contemporary interpreters extend that line to the car. A car accident can then be read as a setback in your work or position, a plan that founders, or a turn you did not see coming. Someone who survives the accident unharmed is read favourably: the setback comes, but it passes.
The Quran also mentions the means of travel as a sign of God's favour. In one verse the believer is taught to say: glory be to Him who has made this subservient to us, for we could not have done it ourselves. That prayer is traditionally said at the start of a journey. A dream about an accident can, in that light, also be a reminder that your safety does not depend on yourself alone.
As always in tabir: people who drive a lot or have been in a real accident often simply dream about it. Such a dream comes from what occupies the soul and need not be interpreted. An anxious dream belongs to hulm: seek protection and do not make too much of it.

How do Islamic interpreters read a car in a dream?
Through the classical mount: your position, standing and means. An accident can then be a setback in your work or plans.
Should I worry after such a dream?
No. The tradition does not read the dream as a prediction. With an anxious dream the advice is to seek protection and say the travel prayer.
