Dreaming of blood in wicca: meaning
In wicca blood is life force. It connects you with your ancestors, your body and the cycle of the moon. A dream about blood is therefore rarely read as doom, more as something that touches you at your roots.
Within this tradition
Many contemporary pagan paths see blood as the carrier of life force and descent. Your blood comes from your parents, and from their parents before them. Dreams about blood are therefore often read in the direction of the ancestors: what flows through your family, what have you been given, and what do you want to pass on?
In many practices blood is also connected with the moon. The menstrual cycle and the lunar cycle are roughly the same length, and some practitioners speak of moon blood. Someone who dreams of blood around her period is invited not to see the dream as strange, but as the body letting its own rhythm be heard. Noting the moon phase with such a dream is common.
Important to know: wicca does not work with blood sacrifice, and contemporary practitioners explicitly reject that image. Blood in a dream is therefore not a call to something dark, but an image of life and connection.
Within shadow work blood can also be about pain. A wound that keeps bleeding points to something not yet healed. The invitation is to look at that wound rather than cover it up, and to ask what is needed for it to heal.
