Dreaming of a scorpion in the Bible: meaning
Jesus tells his disciples: I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and nothing shall hurt you. In the Christian tradition the scorpion therefore stands for harm that stings, but also for the promise that it will not ultimately overcome you.

The text is in Luke 10. The seventy-two disciples return joyfully from their mission and report that even the demons submit to them. Jesus answers that he has given them authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. But he adds: do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
A dream in which you step on a scorpion without being stung, or knock it away, is often read along those lines as protection and victory over what threatens you. At the same time the text reminds you that this victory is not the most important thing; it is about being connected with God.
In Luke 11 Jesus also says: what father gives his child a scorpion when it asks for an egg? How much more will the Father in heaven give good gifts. A dream in which you ask for something and receive a scorpion can thus be about disappointment or distrust, and invite trust.
In Revelation 9 locusts appear with tails like scorpions, as an image of judgement. A dream full of scorpions can therefore also evoke unrest and fear. The tradition reads such a dream with discernment and brings the fear into prayer.
