Dreaming of your mother in the Bible: meaning
In the Christian tradition honouring your mother is a commandment, and at the same time Scripture uses the mother as an image of God's own tenderness. A mother dream is therefore often read as a question about care, gratitude and reconciliation.
Within this tradition
The fifth of the Ten Commandments reads: honour your father and your mother (Exodus 20:12). The letter to the Ephesians calls it the first commandment with a promise (6:2). Proverbs urges that your mother's teaching not be forsaken (1:8), and the woman whom the close of that book sings of is called blessed by her children (31:28). The book of Sirach, which the Catholic and Orthodox churches count as Scripture, says that those who respect their mother lay up treasure (3:4). Against that background a dream about a mother is often read as a question about gratitude and care.
At the same time Scripture uses the mother as an image for God himself. In Isaiah God says: as one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you (66:13), and: can a woman forget her nursing child? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you (49:15). That does not make God a woman, but it shows the tenderness a mother is allowed to carry in the Bible's imagery. A dream of a mother who comforts is read along those lines by many believers as reassurance.
Another image is that of the cross. From the cross Jesus sees his mother standing and entrusts her to the disciple whom he loved (John 19:26-27). Care for a mother is thereby among the last things he arranges. Someone who in a dream cares for their mother, or worries about her, can hold that beside their life. Some believers, especially in the Catholic and Orthodox traditions, also feel a link with Mary in a motherly figure; others do not, and the Protestant tradition is more reserved about it.
The Bible does not draw mothers as flawless, incidentally. Rebekah and Jacob (Genesis 27) show how a mother and a child can help and harm each other, and Jesus himself asks who his mother is (Mark 3:33-35), to name something greater than blood ties. A dream full of tension with your mother therefore does not mean, in the tradition, that you fail to honour her. It can be a question about what is unspoken, and whether reconciliation is possible and safe.
Christian movements differ in how they approach dreams: some see a possible voice of God in them, others mainly processing the day. What they share is discernment: a dream is tested against Scripture, prayer and people you trust. A dream about a mother that was mostly painful need not be a message; with a heavy or unsafe bond, a counsellor is a good person to talk to.

Your mother comforting you
Fits Isaiah's image of a mother who comforts. Read by many believers as reassurance.
Your mother praying
Often read as being carried by the prayer of someone who loves you, and as a reason for gratitude.
Quarrelling with your mother

Does the Bible say anything about dreaming of your mother?
Not directly. Scripture does speak of honouring your mother, and it uses the mother as an image of comfort and tenderness.
Is a mother in a dream ever Mary?
Some believers, especially in the Catholic and Orthodox traditions, experience it that way; others do not. Dreamkin does not decide that. The tradition advises talking it over with a minister or spiritual director.
