Dreaming of rain in the Bible: meaning
Jesus says that God makes his sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Rain in the Bible is an image of God's care for everyone, and of blessing after drought, as with Elijah. A rain dream is therefore often read hopefully in the Christian tradition.
Within this tradition
In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus uses the rain to show how broad God's goodness is: it makes no distinction. That is why, he says, his followers too must love their enemies. A dream about rain falling on everyone, including people you find difficult, can be read in that light as an invitation to gentleness.
In 1 Kings 17 and 18 Elijah announces a drought that lasts three years. After the confrontation on Mount Carmel he prays seven times, until his servant sees a little cloud as small as a man's hand. Then comes heavy rain. A dream about rain after a long dry time is read along those lines as a prayer answered, or as the end of a period of want.
The Bible also knows the other face of rain: the flood, and the parable of the houses on the rock and on the sand. When the rain fell and the streams rose, the house on the rock stood firm. A dream about a storm in which your house stays standing can thus be read as a foundation that holds.
