Dreaming of a wolf in wicca: meaning
In wicca and related nature spirituality the wolf is not the big bad wolf, but a teacher: of instinct, loyalty to the pack and the ability to find your own way in the dark. A wolf in a dream is often read as an animal guide.
Within this tradition
Many wiccans work with the idea of animal guides or power animals: animals that stand out in dreams, meditation or daily life and show something of what you need. The wolf is one of the most beloved. It combines qualities that in the modern world often fall apart: freedom and loyalty, wildness and care, daring to go alone and still belonging to a group.
The wolf is also connected with the moon. The image of a wolf howling under the full moon evokes the night, intuition and the goddess. A dream in which a wolf howls at the moon is sometimes read in wicca as a call to listen to your intuition, or as longing for your own pack: people you belong with.
A wolf that follows or accompanies you is read as support and protection on the way. A wolf that attacks you can be read as a wild side of yourself that you suppress and that now fights back, fitting shadow work. And a lone wolf as the question of whether you carry too much alone.
Wicca has no central doctrine; readings differ per tradition and per person. What a wolf means for you, you weigh against your own feeling.
