Muabbir
The classical term for a qualified dream interpreter: someone with knowledge, experience and a careful method.
A muabbir is someone held competent to interpret dreams: usually a scholar with knowledge of the Qur'an, hadith, language, and the person or context of the dreamer. The tradition sets a high bar for this role, precisely because a wrong interpretation can do harm. Ibn Sirin is the best-known historical example of a muabbir whose work still serves as a reference today.
