Ingi
The spirits of the Indigenous peoples of Suriname.
In Winti the ingi are the spirits connected with the Indigenous peoples of Suriname. There are busi ingi, water ingi and kapten or piai ingi, who count as healers and seers.
In dreams ingi often appear in Indigenous dress, with a headdress, bow and arrow or a matapi, and in red and white. On the forum it is claimed that many Surinamese people have an ingi as djodjo, but that is not established and is also disputed.
