Prati watra

The separation bath after a death, so the yorka lets go.

Prati means to separate. A prati watra is the bath taken after a death, so that the yorka, the spirit of the deceased, lets go and does not keep holding on to the living. According to practitioners it happens after eight days or six weeks, and sooner after a violent death, because a yorka in pain may trouble others.

Dreams about someone who died recently, and especially dreams in which the deceased will not leave, are linked in Winti with the prati watra.
