Loko
Winti of trees and earth, carrier of wisdom and authority.
Loko is among the oldest and most respected winti, tied to trees, especially the kankantri or sacred kapok tree, and to earth and wisdom.
Loko is seen as partner to Mama Aisa. Where she carries and feeds, Loko stands for authority, age and the memory of a place.
Dreams with large, old trees are rarely read as scenery within the tradition. More often as the presence of something that has been there far longer than you.
