Winti

Calabash

A hollowed-out gourd, used in Winti to pray with water.

A kalebas is a hollowed-out fruit used as a bowl. In Winti it is often used for prayer: with a kalebas of water you address your kra or ask for protection.

Practitioners' standard advice with unsettled dreams is to pray, often with a kalebas of water, and to ask for clean dreams: clear dreams that carry a message. Some roll an egg over the body, put it in the water, and ask their kra questions.
